Online Robotics for gr.2-6

NextGen SmartyPants

Dear Warren School families,

As Chris mentioned in his email on March 27th, our students in grades 2-6 will be able to join an online Robotics enrichment program with Next Gen Smarty Pants. This is a wonderful enrichment opportunity for our children!

Here is more information about the program from Para Patani, the owner of NextGen Smarty Pants:

My staff and I are proud to serve you and your students during this extraordinary time.

At this time, registration pages for "Live Distance Learning - Beginner Coding with Scratch” are available for sign-up at the respective links above.  This course is available for all students in Grades 2-6.  Classes will be held once per week at 2PM-3PM via Google Classroom according to the following schedule:

Monday: JMS (KC Chapman)

Tuesday: GCS (Tracy Keilty)

Wednesday: LCS (Lisa Deltano)

Thursday: LIS (Mike Pascento)

Friday: Warren (Angela Rossbach)

Graphical Programming Languages are continuing to be utilized in increasing numbers of coding applications.  The Scratch graphical programming language provides a fun, engaging introduction to software and coding for kids.  In this class, students use Scratch as the learn to design and create their own projects in Video Game Design, Computer Animation, Story-Telling, Computer Graphic Arts, and more!  Over the next academic year, students will be using similar coding systems in our Intermediate-level Robotics, Coding, and Circuits programs.

Thank you for the opportunity to engage and enrich your students’ education.  We value our partnership with you and continue to look for ways to complement, reinforce, and enhance the education they are gaining in your classrooms with hands-on, project-based learning.

With best regards,

Paras.
